PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – Elite professional golfers Max Homa and Tom Kim have reportedly initiated discussions with their respective agents and the PGA Tour regarding what they describe as an 'unprecedented workload,' after scheduling two separate golf events in a single week. The athletes are seeking additional compensation, or 'hazard pay,' for the perceived physical and mental toll of such a demanding itinerary.
Homa, fresh off concluding one multi-million dollar tournament, expressed his profound exhaustion, stating, “It’s going to be a bit much. I’m not sure my body is built for this kind of grind.” Sources close to the players suggest that the prospect of transitioning from a traditional 18-hole course to a state-of-the-art virtual arena for the new TGL league has added an unbearable layer of complexity to their week.
“We’re talking about two different types of grass, potentially two different types of golf carts, and who knows how many different kinds of complimentary snacks,” explained Bethany 'Biff' Henderson, a spokesperson for the newly formed 'Professional Golfers’ Wellness and Scheduling Advocacy Group.' “These are highly specialized athletes. You can’t just expect them to perform at peak levels when their entire routine of private jet travel and bespoke club fittings is disrupted by, well, more golf.”
The PGA Tour has yet to comment on the demands, but insiders suggest a new 'Emotional Support Caddie' program might be in the works.
